Slow heterogeneous relaxation due to constraints in dual XXZ models

I will present a family of quantum kinetically constrained models (KCM) arising through duality from the XXZ spin chain. Mimicking excluded-volume constraints typical of classical structural glasses, kinetic constraints crucially affect the dynamics of KCMs. Their intriguing feature is that the integrable and nonintegrable deformations around the classical stochastic point give rise to ground state phase transitions between localised and delocalised phases, which in turn determine the nature of the relaxation dynamics at finite energy densities. I will describe the main features of the dynamics in each phase and discuss the connection to the corresponding classical stochastic models, where the emergent dynamical phase transition can be understood through statistical ensemble description of trajectories.
