Strongly coupled Bose-Fermi mixtures in 2d

I present a theoretical study of the phase diagram of strongly coupled two-dimensional Bose-Fermi mixtures that can be realized in two-dimensional semiconductors and ultracold atoms as a function of the particle densities, focusing on the limit of small boson density. To that effect, we used a functional renormalization group approach. At finite boson density, the fermions and bosons can form a fermionic composite molecule with a well-defined Fermi surface. Beyond a certain critical density, this molecular phases gives way to a mixed phase where polarons are hybridized with molecular degrees of freedom. We predict frequency- and momentum-resolved spectral functions.
