Quantum Ising model with additional all-to-all interactions
I will consider the quantum Ising model with additional all-to-all interactions, which serves as a toy model for long-range interactions or coupling to an external mode. I will in a first part show the mean-field solvability of the model, which holds despite the coexistence of short-range and long-range interactions. In a second part I will discuss the unusual behaviour of the splitting between the two degenerate ground states in presence of interactions corresponding to power-laws with exponent smaller than 1.
