Workshop "The interplay of complex and coherent dynamics in brain function"
This conference involving CY Cergy Paris Université, École Normale Supérieure in Paris and Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes in Marseille, will bring together scientists working in different disciplines ranging from applied mathematics to neuroscience, from physics to biology in order to address a number of cutting-edge issues around the emergence of complex and coherent dynamics in the brain. It is the final act of the ANR Project "Exact Reduction of Multiscale Neural Dynamics" ERMUNDY coordinated by Pr. A. Torcini (LPTM, CY Cergy Paris Université).
This international workshop is the final act of the ANR Project Exact Reduction of Multiscale Neural Dynamics ERMUNDY coordinated by Alessandro Torcini involving CY Cergy Paris Université, École Normale Supérieure in Paris and Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes in Marseille. Its aim is on one side to present the results obtained during the ANR project to the scientific community and on the other side to bring top scientists at CY Advanced Studies. We would like to bring in Neuville-sur-Oise scientists working in different disciplines ranging from applied mathematics to neuroscience, from physics to biology in order to address a topic of general interest as the emergence of complex and coherent dynamics in the brain. In particular, we would like to discuss the relevance of next generation neural mass models, developed within the ERMUNDY project, for the interpretation of neural function probed by macroscopic measurements, as Local Field Potentials, EEG, FMRI etc, as well as exchange ideas on the development of possible future experiments based on our theoretical results and of improvements of the models.
