Separation of variables: from spin chains to 4d CFTs

I will present new results in the program of developing the separation of variables (SoV) approach for integrable models. The SoV methods are expected to be very powerful but until recently have been barely developed beyond the simplest rank-one cases. I will describe the SoV construction at any rank and demonstrate how to solve the longstanding problem of deriving the scalar product measure in SoV for gl(N) spin chains. Using these results I will compute various correlation functions and wavefunction overlaps in a simple determinant form. I will also present the extension of many of these results to a 4d CFT known as fishnet theory, and discuss their expected applications in N=4 SYM and AdS/CFT.
